For customers who have predictable bandwidth needs, the Tiered T3 is a more viable alternative. Tiered T3 is available in capped 3 Mbps increments and allows the customer to choose their usage level at a predetermined monthly cost.

Tiered T3 service connects you to our Internet network at a port speed set at your choice of tiers, in 3 Mbps increments, up to 45 Mbps. These increments are priced according to the port speed you choose. Customers will not be allowed to burst above the tier selected but may upgrade their bandwidth level with a two-week notice.

Tiered T3 is generally regarded as a step up for most T1 customers. It is best suited for the customer who understands their traffic characteristics (e.g., peak busy hour usage). For those customers that have a less predictable traffic pattern, or are growing at a very fast pace, Flexible T1 or Flexible T3 may be more appropriate.
